Update work in Microsoft Project files

 

Ü      Note that Track-IT does not submit actual Start and End times when submitting time entries. Only the total time is submitted.

 

To update actual work in Microsoft Project files:

 

1.     Exit Microsoft Project (if it is running). This step is important to ensure proper linking and updating.

2.     Once employees using Track-IT light and Track-IT web edition have submitted their timesheets and the timesheets have been approved, start Track-IT pro and select Tools, Microsoft Project Link.

3.     Select the Project Link tab.

4.     Check the Send approved time entries to Microsoft Project files box.

5.     Click OK.

 

Note: Only "Approved Time" will be sent to Microsoft Project.

 

6.     Exit Track-IT pro. This is an important step to ensure proper linking and updating.

7.     Start Microsoft Project and select File, Open to open the project plan. Actual hours worked will be updated. If you do not see this information, use the following steps to add the Actual Work column in your view.

8.     Right-click any column title.

9.     Select Insert Column.

10.   In the Field name, select Actual Work.

11.   Click OK when done.
