This option is a setting for the Timer view. Use Auto stop/start to automatically stop tracking and resume whenever a new task is selected when tracking is ON.
When Auto start/stop is ON, you do not need to click stop when using the timer, while tracking time, simply select another task. The software will stop tracking, store the recorded timesheet entry and start tracking for the new selected task.
Ü If Auto start/stop is ON and you want to allocate the current time worked to a different item, press the shift key while making your selection (ü=ON).
Ü If Auto start/stop is OFF, press the shift key while making your selection when you’re tracking time and it will automatically start tracking for the new selection.
Ü When auto stop/start is OFF, click items in the main list while tracking time and the software will continue to track time on the initial category until you click STOP and re-start the timer for another task.
To turn Auto Start/stop ON:
1. Select Tools, Options from the menu.
2. Select the Automatic Options tab.
3. Check the Auto stop/start when selecting new task in Timer view box.
4. Click OK when done.
