Homeless Papers

Organization, we all need it and can all improve on it. We all know millions of ways to do it. But what the heck is the easiest way to get organized?

Day planners are only as good as the day allows. If in other words there's no surprise like sick employees, emergency meetings or service calls. Or how about unexpected sales people, surveys or IRS visits. Well there goes your whole day schedule out the window.

The dictionary's definition is; define structure, arrange, put into working order, unite into a society. Well, I wish somebody would unite me and arrange me into a permanent structure instead. The definition leaves a lot of questions instead of answers. Working order, what's that? We're all in working order or at least we'd like to think so. Then again does laying on the couch contemplating, account for working order? My spouse would like to think so. Arranging pencils neatly in a desk, now that's organization or is it? At least I can now find one - sharpened though would be another story.

There's an old adage that reminds us of some of the most organized people in the world are not the neatest and busiest. The adage being 'when you need an answer you'll find it in front of you'!

Looking in front of me at my desk; I don't even see a desk. I see a cyclone of papers, pens and anything else that has found a new home with no place to go. These so-called homeless pieces of paper seem to be telling me something. But what? Each one uniquely scattered carefully so that no wood of my desk shows through. Some having red notices of 'important' on them or other reminders. Where to start looking for an answer is beyond me, or at least beyond my desk. How about yours?
